Aycliffe Young People's Centre Aycliffe is a controlled Community Home managed by Durham County Council under Section 53(4) of the 1989 Children Act. It provides a range of social work, education and training services for young people between the ages of 12 and 18.

Looking After Children - the centre's core task

Achieving good outcomes for young people is fundamental to the work of the Centre. The report published by the Department of Health Looking After Children: Assessing Outcomes in Child Care, was approved by the Social Services Committee as the prime planning method for children in the Looked After System.
This Report describes seven dimensions to be focused on to give children and young people the best chance of benefiting from being cared for. These are:-
